Steve Begleiter, who was a member and the fan favorite (aside from Ivey) from this years ‘November Nine’, will hosts a poker benefit for the U.S. troops. Begleiter will hosts the ‘Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund Charity Poker Tournament’ which will take place at the Intrepid Sea, Air, & Space Museum in New York. The tournament set for January 27th has a buy-in of $750 in which the winner of the event will win a $10,000 seat into the 2010 World Series of Poker main event. Others who want to watch the tournament and take part in the activities must pay $250 which help support the cause.

Day 1c of the Crown Aussie Millions is in the books as Day 1 is finally complete, and the remaining players have their eyes set on day 2. There were 459 players that participated in Day 1c in which 229 of them were players that bought back in after being eliminated in either Day 1a or Day 1b. Nick Haidaris was the chip leader after Day 1c was complete as he will be a force to be reckoned with heading into Day 2. This tournaments was the largest casino poker tournaments to be held in Australia as the Opening Event saw 1,143 players hit the felt.

Doyles Room’s ‘party of five’ has been trimmed down to only four. Doyles Room Brunson 10, though now it only has four members, lost Alec ‘traheho’ Torelli who decided to part ways with the poker room. Torelli left Doyles Room to pursue another project , but no details have been released on the other project at hand. Doyles Room will begin the hunt to fill the void that Torelli leaves behind, but they have decided to wait until players return from PCA. Torelli’s contract ended this month and only time will tell to see what project he left Doyles Room to pursue.

The 2010 Crown Aussie Millions Day1b started off the day with 327 competitors, but by days end only 60 survived to advance to Day 2. Jim Mastorakos took the field by storm as he finished as the Day 1b chip leader. Jim Mastorakos and Xen Xenofontos, the chip leader of Day 1a, head into Day 2 with a solid chance of making a run for the tournament. New players will once again hit the felt as another Day 1 takes form. Day 1c will kick off tomorrow at 12:30 PM as one player looks to join Xen and Jim who are currently sitting atop of the field.

Five prelim tournaments have been added to the events that will give normal guys and gals a chance to compete in a $10,000 Los Angeles Poker Classic event. The player who goes on to win on these five events will not only earn the first place money, but they will also receive a $10,000 buy-in thanks to Commerce. Players can choose between the H.O.R.S.E event, the heads up event, or the main event which is set to take place February 26th. Regardless the tournament they choose it’ll be an extra bonus on top of the first place money that they have already earned.
