If you don’t know where Marrakech is then I would suggest getting a map but my resources tell me it’s in Africa. Day 1 of the event started with 416 players and there are only 151 survivors heading into Day 2. The World Poker Tour has partnered up with ChiliPoker to bring this lucrative event to Marrakech and hopefully future tournaments will continue to follow in their footsteps. The players came from all over the world racking up more than 30 countries (PokerNews) to have played in this event. Not too shabby for the first WPT event in Marrakech. |

As the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas is starting to wrap up their events, the World Series of Poker Circuit events are only just beginning. The first event of 13 events began yesterday (Friday, October 16th) at the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond Indiana. The first event is a $300 buy in a No-Limit Hold’em event and the WSOP Circuit will come to a close on Friday, October 23rd with a No-Limit championship event where the buy in is set at $5,000. Other tournaments include Omaha, H.O.R.S.E., and a special tournament for all those ladies out there. The great thing about poker is that there is always a tournament running no matter where you look. |

Tony G Poker is inviting Australian players to battle for $2,000 packages. The 2k packages are for the Poker News Cup and they will be up for grabs everyday from the 15th to the 22nd of September. Players who want to participate must go to TonyGPoker.com for details and the buy in for the tournaments will be $30.00. If you just happen to go to win of these special packages you would be a winner of an ‘Entry to the Poker News Cup Main Event’ as well as an ‘Invitation to the Official Player Party’. This package is tough to beat considering the buy in is only $30. |

One good thing about playing online poker is waking up and seeing that your favorite online poker room has added some new features. Whether that be software updates, new toys in the store, new promotions, or adding some new tournaments. That’s exactly what Cake Poker has done for its players. Cake has added a $50+5 tournament that will run every night at 8 P.M. ($6,000 guarantee) and they have also added a nightly $150+12 freezeout tournament that will run at 9 P.M. ($20,000 guarantee). Cake Poker’s ‘new schedule’ is expected to ready by early 2010 so be on the lookout for their new and improved schedule. |

Stepson of the great Barry “Ace on the River” Greenstein, Joe Sebok, signs with online poker room Ultimate Bet. Sebok is joining Ultimate Bet as a media and operations consultant while he also helps shape the UB poker room into a poker site made directly for its players. Joe Sebok is also a website CEO and a radio host as now he takes on the role as a UB pro. Sebok has worked with or at least he has promoted Poker Road in the past before signing with UB. If he is anything like his stepfather, UB found a solid poker pro with this signing. |
