Wednesday, 26 January 2011 09:41

The WSOP Circuit in Choctaw, Oklahoma, name a winner. A 25-year old Huy Nguyen battled the title out in a huge field of players that counted, after Day 1, 174 and played further down to 14 on Day 2. The chip leader Traci Brown who finished 11 at the WSOP Ladies last summer was eventually also eliminated by Nguyen, however, the two of them may see each other again at the $1 million freeroll in Las Vegas where the WSOP Circuit National Championship will take place as both of them managed to win a seat. This event is to be held at Caesars Palace and seats will be awarded to the top 100 qualifiers from the WSOP Circuit season.

Bond between academic and gambling sector
Friday, 21 January 2011 12:14

A new and unusual, however, quite logical bond has been formed between the academic and the gambling sector in Singapore when the Regulatory Authority of Singapore (CRA) agreed on cooperation with the National University of Singapore (NUS), specifically, its departments of Mathematics and Statistics and Applied Probability. The expertise of the university professors and the students will be used to the benefit of regulation of the gambling industry. Research of game technologies will be done along with exploring new ways to keep casino games fair and reliably random. Keeping an eye at the local casinos is also a task far from simple and ways to make this easier need to be developed, too.

Roberto Romanello one of the most consistent winners
Wednesday, 12 January 2011 17:38

One of the names poker aficionados may know quite well is Roberto Romanello. The young player with an attractively Italian name proved himself this year at the European Poker Tour stop in Prague, Czech Republic, where he finished first, beating his last rival Emiliano Bono by a full-house. Roberto’s poker skills are, funny enough, down to a leg injury he suffered as a younger boy. The accident confined him to bed and he could think of nothing better than watching TV, where a game of poker was being aired. He seems to have been arrested by the show so much as to buy a laptop and start playing online. Today, he is one of the best in the pokerverse, however, is not planning to give up his original job – working in the family restaurant.

Poker hall of fame
Wednesday, 21 July 2010 09:01

This group has been created in 1979 by a casino of Las Vegas to reward the best player of the century. And it was a good way as well to attract people with this organisation and proposes some tournaments with one of the Hall of fame players. It is the best association that a poker player can expect. Nowadays, the association is composed of 35 players and every year it is not an obligation to nominate a new player to join this famous group of exceptional players. How could you join this group? Believe me; it is hard to join this group. First you have to be one of the best players of poker in the world. You have to play against the best players in the world and have acquired the respect of your opponents. You have also had to play the High strake in cash game. The nomination depends of the president of the association.
