The 2010 European Poker Tour in Copenhagen came to a close and like every other poker tournament only one player was left with all the chips. Sweden native Anton Wigg took down the title and the €494,000 first place prize that came along with it. Wigg won his entry into the tournament of PokerStars by winning a €500 satellite, and ended up turning that satellite into a once in a lifetime victory. This was the biggest win for the young 22 year old who found himself almost down and out throughout the tournament.

The second episode of High Stakes Poker season 6 aired last night with a table full of characters. The high stakes table held seats for Tom Dwan, Andreas Hoivold, Gus Hansen, Dario Minieri, Eli Elezra, Antonio Esfandiari, and the best poker player in the world in Phil Ivey. Andreas Hoivold joins Phil Hellmuth on the rail for the rest of the way as Hoivold lost his $200,000. On the flip side of things Gus Hansen was the player to walk away as the biggest winner as he took down the biggest pot of the night on the final hand of the night.

The first ever North American Poker Tour has begun, and an old familiar face is leading the way as Day 1 of the main event came to a close. Chris Moneymaker is responsible for starting the poker boom after winning the 2003 World Series of Poker main event, and now he is back on top after Day 1 of the Venetian main event. Close behind Moneymaker ready to make a strike is the likes of Carter Phillips, Daniel Negreanu, and the current WSOP main event champion Joe Cada. There is plenty of play left in the first ever NAPT Venetian main event, so only time will tell who will come out on top.

Full Tilt Online Poker Series Event 18

The Full Tilt Online Poker Series held two events on Thursday with a combination of a No-Limit Hold’em Cashout Tournament and a Stud Hi event. Event #18 was the cashout tournament which created a prize pool and cashout pool both valued at $156,400. ‘Onjacktallback’ took home the golden FTOPS jersey, $33,626 for first place, and a portion of the cashout pool. The Stud Hi Limit tournament was Event #19 as ‘nadremark’ shipped the event for a solid $20,256 in cash money. Full Tilt pro Michael Craig fell just short of claiming the tournament, but ended up taking 4th place for $6,800.
