PokerStars made the announcement that they will once again honor ‘Nordic’ country poker players before the European Poker Tour in Copenhagen. Countries that will be in contention of this honor will consist of Finland, Norway, Sweden, and Denmark. The categories deserving of awards are ‘Best Live Tournament Player’, ‘Rookie of the Year’, ‘Best Online Player’, and ‘Best Performance’. Some of the players up for contention for these awards are Peter Eastgate, Ilari Sahamies, and Gus Hansen just to name a few. With online poker still fighting for its rights to be legal within the United States, Delaware takes a step forward legalizing table games within the state. Table games like blackjack, craps, and of course poker will coming to the state in the near future. The bill was passed on January 21st by a landslide and the Delaware faithful won’t have to travel far to do table game gambling. Table games will be allowed at three casinos in the state, so if you are in the area look forward to table games coming to a casino near you. |

The 2010 Aussie Millions Main Event is winding down as only 8 players remain. Right now 7 of those players are chasing one man with an enormous chip advantage. Sorel Mizzi, currently in first place, is holding a chip stack of 6,033,000 with the second place holder Tyron Krost clutching onto a stack of 1,869,000. The players behind Mizzi have their work cut for them if they want to be the ones holding the Main Event trophy at the end of the tournament. The other players left include Frederik Jensen, Peter Jetten, Annette Obrestad, Stephen Shelley, Steven Friedlander, and Kosta Varoxis who is currently in last place. It’s two week since the deadly earthquake struck the country and the people of Haiti. With millions of people still homeless and the country still in rubble, Titan Poker is stepping up to the plate to offer more help. Titan Poker will host a $10 buy-in tournament coming on January 31st. All the proceeds from the tournament will go to the Haiti relief through the Red Cross. Titan will then match all of the buy-ins much like the other poker room are doing at the moment. Please participate in this tournament to help lend a hand. They need it more than we do. |

While the main event is making it’s way toward the final table; the final table has been set for the 2010 Aussie Millions $1,100 No Limit Hold’em Teams event. The teams consist of Mick Guttmann/Mel Judah, Reza Houshmadi/Reza Vakili, Stewart Scott/Raj Ramakrishnan, Naveen Kumar/James Burslem, Joey Baker/Bill Jordanou, Brad Fry/Marty Robinson, Carolyn Tulloch/John MacNaughton, Hoi Cheung/Winfred Yu, John Tran/Scott Hatchby, and finally John Caris/Jackson Laughton. Players alternate every time the levels increase creating quite the poker experience. Play will continue until there is only ‘two’ remaining. |
